Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has announced a collaboration with a global leader in flavours, fragrances, and food ingredients to transform research in protein yield and molecular discovery.

The project aims to transform the development of fragrances, flavours, and health-related products using NVIDIA’s BioNeMo framework, a tool designed to significantly accelerate research by eliminating trial-and-error processes.

This technology is expected to reduce the research cycle by up to five times.

The initiative integrates TCS’s Pace Port innovation hub and delivery network. It focuses on predicting protein structures, which is critical to understanding protein functions and designing new therapeutic molecules.

“This partnership highlights the growing role of advanced technologies in transforming traditional research processes, with potential benefits extending to industries beyond flavours and fragrances,” the company stated.

In 2019, TCS signed an agreement with Givaudan International SA to modernise and oversee its global data centre operations, aiming to accelerate its digital transformation journey.

Meanwhile, in October 2024, TCS expanded its collaboration with NVIDIA to launch industry-specific AI solutions that help clients adopt AI at scale.

The company also introduced a new unit that combines its domain expertise with NVIDIA AI technologies. This unit offers tools such as NVIDIA NIM microservices and NVIDIA NIM Agent Blueprints to create cutting-edge solutions.

“TCS and NVIDIA have collaborated to build innovative, value chain-centric solutions and offerings for industry verticals on the NVIDIA AI platform,” TCS emphasised. In its Q3 FY25 earnings call, TCS reported strong client engagement in generative AI and agentic AI projects. “We actively engaged with clients on AI/GenAI-led software engineering, legacy modernisation, and AIOps, leading to greater business certainty and confidence for our clients,” the company shared.
