OpenAI is expanding into new cities, namely NYC, Seattle, Paris, Brussels, and Singapore, alongside its growing offices in San Francisco, London, Dublin, and Tokyo, the company announced on X.

The company first opened as a nonprofit in 2015, establishing its office in San Francisco. Earlier this year, OpenAI announced its entry into the Asian market by opening its first office in Tokyo, Japan. The company is unveiling a GPT-4 model customised for the Japanese language and plans to release this custom model more broadly in the API in the coming months.

The company might soon open its first office in India as well. It has already hired its first Indian employee, Pragya Misra, to oversee public policy affairs and partnerships in India, hinting at potential expansion for OpenAI in the country.

Notably, this year OpenAI is hosting its annual developer conference, DevDay 2024, in three cities: San Francisco on October 1, 2024, London on October 30, 2024, and Singapore on November 21, 2024. These events are spread across different dates, allowing developers from various regions to participate.

OpenAI, recently raised $6.6 billion at a valuation of $157 billion. The latest round of funding, led by existing investor Thrive Capital, has brought OpenAI’s total capital raised to $17.9 billion.

Not only its office space but also with its products OpenAI is on the expansion bandwagon.

The company recently introduced ‘Canvas,’ a new coding interface within ChatGPT designed to streamline writing and coding tasks. Available to ChatGPT Plus, Team, and soon Enterprise and Edu users, Canvas allows users to edit projects in real time, add debugging tools, and port code across languages, including Python, JavaScript, and more.

Users can highlight sections for targeted feedback, and the system will automatically suggest edits and improvements, significantly enhancing productivity for developers and writers alike.
